Description

COS offers both a Skill Certificate in Agricultural Business Management and an Associate of Science in Agricultural Business Management.

The Skill Certificate in Agricultural Business Management prepares students for entry-level employment in the field of Agricultural Business Management. Students completing this certificate will acquire social media, web design, agriculture communications, agriculture accounting and principles of sales, marketing and management skills. Once you complete this pathway, you will be prepared for employment in the following fields: agriculture and retail sales, agriculture bookkeeper, marketing assistant, farm and ranch manager assistant.

This degree prepares students for entry-level employment and/or potential further study in the field of Agriculture Business Management through the study of sales and service, marketing, accounting and computer applications. Students will acquire skills in sales and service, marketing, accounting and computer applications, data evaluation, farm management and accounting. In addition to completing the required courses in agricultural business management, students must also complete the general education requirements. Once you complete this pathway, you will be prepared for careers or employment in the following fields: bookkeeper, farm manager, retail sales in agriculture.

Goals and Certificates

Once students complete the program, they will earn either a Skill Certificate in Agricultural Business Management or an Associate of Science in Agricultural Business Management.

Prerequisites and Required Assessments

There are no prerequisites for enrolling in the Agriculture Business Management programs. Even though a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate is not required, it is preferred. Some employers prefer to hire employees with a High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate. There are also more options for financial aid at COS for students who have a High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate.

Students must take a placement test to enroll in math and English classes for the general education requirements. Students should meet with a counselor to determine the correct placement in these classes.
